This white Hobart-produced K5-A Mixer was manufactured in 1978 and just received an extensive refresh, to include new gaskets, grease, pins, o-ring, and a new 3-prong cord installed (with the ground wire connected to the stator stud behind the bearing bracket). Paint Condition: 8/10. There are some marks and signs of use in the paint and some small chips on the base which are visible in the pictures, but the paint is in great shape for 48 years of use.
Mechanical: 8/10. This is a solid mixer in very good condition internally. Machine was thoroughly cleaned and regreased using Phillips 66 Food Machinery Grease. There’s a minimal amount of sparking on the speed control board at speeds 4 and 6, resulting in a minor fluctuation in speed (audible in video). This is very common in pre-Solid State models such as the K5-A.
Other: The bowl has obvious signs of use, but is in working condition.
